I've been tagged by one of MJ's Farmgirls, Megan Let's play!
The Rules: Each person tagged gives seven random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs seven facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog.
Hmmm.....seven random facts
1. I am a middle child. Two older, Two younger. My father was a middle child, My mother was a middle child....so I am the middle child of a middle child. So does that make me a born compromiser.....hmmmmm. I've always been one to settle and life is settling on my middle right now! LOL
2. I was a straight A student all through elementary school until the age of 15 when I discovered boys......wish I would have kept my head in the books. I could have then gone on to college right after high school. Instead I chose to get married, for the first time, at the tender (real meaning: stupid) age of 17, the day after I graduated from high school. My daughters will NEVER get married at the age of 17. My mother refused to sign the papers for me to be married under the age of 18. All of my classmates thought I had to have been pregnant...I wasn't, just thought I couldn't live without him. Ah...but what doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger and if I hadn't gone through those 16 years with him, I wouldn't have my son and I wouldn't appreciate the wonderful man I'm married to today!
3. In a former life, I was an egyptian princess. I had hundreds of slaves and all of my subjects adored me. I never had to work. People fed me dates and the pure white cheese from the finest dairy goats, while I lounged in the shade on a silk pillow. My father the king, kept a stable of snow white unicorns for my viewing pleasure. There were great chariot races by scores of suitors for my hand in marriage. I shunned them all for the love of.......(well I can dream can't I?)
4. When I was 12 I was a triple threat to the other 12 year old girls at the summer park program. That year I won the jump rope championship, the jacks championship and had the fastest 50 yard dash time. My sister and I also won the paper dress designing contest that summer. I still get on the floor and play jacks....I am REALLY good at jacks!!!!
5. I have a first dan black belt in MuDukKwon TaeKwonDo and was the NC state champion in forms and fighting for many years and qualified to fight in the World Cup Championships by placing in the top 3 in the National TaeKwonDo tournament. I was training to be in the Olympics.....then my knee blew......big sigh. That was 1993....dear heavens was that really almost 15 years ago? I'm depressed now!!
6. Love DARK chocolate and strong coffee. Hate styrofoam in any form!!
7. I know this is mushy, but I adore my husband. He is my best friend, my soul mate, my everything. He has seen me at my darkest moments and loved me. He was brave enough to love and marry an older woman (10 years difference.) He was at my side when my mother died....he invited her into our home during her last few months of life. He saved my life when I was drowning on more than one occasion...he pulled me up from the depths of depression and holds my feet firmly on this earth when my head is in the clouds....I love him and I know he loves me. He loves our two daughters and he loves my son from my first marriage as if he were his own son and he really has been a wonderful father to him, even though he is only 10 years older than my son. Our 12th anniversary is June 3!
Isn't it wonderful when we find the man of our dreams. I too was married for 16 yrs then got divorced and 2 yrs later found my man. He is my BF. Like hers, he has been there for me when I had no one else. I can't help but laugh for people often ask is he my dad. (he is old enough to be.haha)
Have a good one.
Laura
Pretty interestng lady! I'm so glad that you are happy and in love now. I know my first marriage has enabled me to really appreciate the one I'm in now as well.
Hear! hear! on the good man part. I am back together and marrying my high school sweetheart from 27 yrs ago. It was like nothing had changed.
BTW, Georgann, Frank is VERY impressed with your TaeKwonDo expertise!
