A Handy Can for a Sewing Goddess Friend

Here is one for a Sewing Goddess friend. The background is deep purple, the waxing moon is gold and the stars are white. All of this is from a thrifted felted wool sweater. There is a little seam ripper pocket on the backside of this one. As you can see it can hold alot and remains stable. The can held organic green beans.

These are really fun to make. Hope you will try one or two and let me tell you they are mighty handy to have near the sewing machine!!

Hugs to all,
G

Hi! I'm new to the MJF forums and found your blog from your signature line there.

I've read all your posts and just love looking at all your sewing creations. The handfasting dress you made for Kim is GORGEOUS!!! The circlet is, as well.

I took a sewing class way back in high school days, so have some very rusty, very beginner sewing knowledge. For my upcoming bday, I've asked my mom to teach (reteach) me to sew and to help me make something off a pattern. I found a cute vintage 50's apron pattern today (oy, have the price of patterns gone up in 20 years!), and am looking forward to making it.

Your blog is very inspiring for this sewing newbie =).
