A writing exercise about the wind.

This is how I start a poem. Just free thought writing, asking myself a question, putting myself in another set of shoes and going with it. This is just a first draft...just as it came out. It is very, very rough, but it is a basic skeleton of a poem or story.

What If I could play with the wind?

The wind whispered in my ear today.
Come with me, come play.
I’ll take you far, far away.

Where shall we go, oh where shall we go?

Anywhere you desire the wind whispered.
For I cover the earth, and I fill the sky.

Whatever shall we do, whatever shall we do?

Anything you desire the wind whispered.
I shift the sands,

I sail the seas,

I tickle the leaves in the tops of the trees.

I spread my arms and danced with the wind.
Take me with you, my invisible friend.

We danced on clouds.
We sailed on a breath over the mountains
We floated on fingertips of snow.

And rippled through golden seas of wheat.

Free to be nothing and everything.
Thank you my friend,
Thank you wind.

Thanks Nancy Jo,
I just did a google search using the image button rather than the search button first. I searched for: wind trees, wind children dancing, wind ocean, etc. I found so many lovely, lovely images.

Yes, I've always envied the birds for their flight, but!! I hate to fly in a jet or plane! LOL I think I'd like a hot air balloon though.

I'AM KEEPING MY FEET ON THE GROUND ALSO, THEY SAY THERE ARE MORE ACCIDENTS IN CARS, BUT YOU NEVER HEAR ABOUT A BUICK FALLING THOUSANDS OF FEET THROUGH THE AIR.
lET ME KNOW HOW THAT HOT AIR BALLOON THING WORKS OUT IF YOU DO IT, BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT IT IS A BALLOON AND THERE ARE FLAMES NOT TO FAR FROM IT.

You are too funny Nancy Jo! I'll have to be sure to take an umbrella if Buicks are falling from the sky! LOL.....Sure hope they don't still use hydrogen in those balloons, and what with my hot flashes and all, I might cause one to blow up too!! LOL

Just love ya my friend,
Georgann
